CHEVROLET IMPALA |
The Chevrolet Impala will be updated for the 2014 model year, with sales expected to begin in the first quarter of 2013.The tenth-generation Impala is larger and more upscale than the existing model (sharing the extended Epsilon II platform with the Cadillac XTS) to reduce price overlap between Impala and Malibu, similar to how the Ford Taurus and Ford Fusion
are positioned in Ford's lineup. The next generation Impala was
launched at the New York Auto show in April 2012. It will be assembled
in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, where the current Impala is produced, and at the Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly in the US.
On April 4, 2012, General Motors released a public media article covering the 2014 Chevrolet Impala at the New York International Auto Show. The new Impala is described by General Motors as "a reestablishment of a popular, enduring and iconic nameplate with a new outlook on style, comfort, efficiency, and safety".
A new exterior and interior emphasizes Chevrolet's new design
direction, and features a more fluid structure with sweeping body
contours and a much-improved, flush, and flowing interior according to
GM.
